This innovative Kizazi Kijacho digital App aims to support Community Health Workers (CHWs) in counseling of pregnant women and young caregivers, covering all aspects of nurturing care (good health; adequate nutrition; responsive care giving; opportunities for early learning; and security and safety) to ensure young children not only survive but also thrive.The digital app enables CHWs to provide personalized and standardized health services to women during pregnancy, post delivery and also to their child for the first 12 months through a series of home visits.
The digital tool will enhance the quality of health services offered by the CHW by: 1.
reminding the CHW of home visits due in their communities, 2.
danger sign screening, 3.
health and nutrition promotion, 4.
coaching in age-appropriate play and communication activities, 5.
issuing and follow up of referrals and other health related concerns.
The tool will also enable the CHWs to collect rich and timely data from the field allowing for real time program monitoring through dashboards and also analysis for health research purposes.
